Mailroom Clerk / Receptionist Pickering 2075833

We are looking for a Mailroom Clerk/Back up receptionist for our Scarborough Corporate office. Reporting to the Office Manager, the Mailroom Clerk is responsible for controlling the ordering, shipping and receiving process for all materials to/from the administration group. This position also provides secretarial, clerical and administrative support on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate postage meters and scales
  • Pick up and deliver materials as required
  • Open, sort and screen mail
  • Order and maintain office supplies and office furnishings
  • Operate office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, and calculator
  • Complete adhoc requests and provides coverage for receptionists
  • Understand internal policies, procedures and practices
  • Carry out routine duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Make decisions and establish work priorities on essentially procedure-oriented operations
  • Provide back up for reception

Qualifications:

  • High school completion plus computer software courses in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • 2 – 3 years experience as a Receptionist operating multiple line switchboards
  • Intermediate Word, Excel and PowerPoint skill level
  • Working knowledge of voice mail and telephone systems
  • Experience performing office and clerical accounting related duties
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong/effective communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
  • Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
