HR Generalist – Western Canada
Job Overview
The HR Generalist is a critical member of the Human Resources department. The role is responsible for delivering a full range of HR services to managers and employees and is a support resource to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide insight and solutions to overcome HR-related challenges
- Support and implement policies, plans, and standard operating procedures to support objectives and strategies
- Become the “go-to” HR person for Western Canada operations by providing guidance and advice to stakeholders for all HR-related functions
- Thoroughly investigate, report and advise on employee relations issues.
- Participate in employee disciplinary concerns
- Manage termination-related processes
- Assist the talent acquisition team from time to time with recruiting, interviewing and selecting candidates
- Actively participate in the onboarding process for new employees
- Train employees on HR policies and procedures, benefits, systems, etc.
- Provide support to the Canadian team and promote positive employee relations
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree, preferably from an HR or business program.
- Well versed in the legislation and regulations regarding HR functions.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR role.
- Experience with a variety of technologies, including HRIS systems (Dayforce) and extensive experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- A desire to take responsibility for your part in the work and always look for ways to help others.
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and employee-focused.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Occasional local and international travel required
